sitting in the livingroom of a house my wife and i rent, and she says "two men just walked by the window out back" thinking she was crazy i got up to look for myself, sure enough two guys standing out behind my house in my fairly wooded back yard.. I watched for a few minutes as they looked around at things in my yard, mostly the tank that had been 15+years.. As they came towards the street front side of the house i stepped out and politley asked "can i help you" to which i was simply replied "Suburban gas" the guy didnt even stop walking to say this. Now irritated i from his rude demeanor i asked " You guys dont knock on peoples doors to let them know your going to be walking around in thier yard".. Like a complete ***, one of the guys replies "we have a work order to pick up that tank" fair enough i thought.. But it seems to me, a person who has had several jobs in the customer service field, that a courtesy knock whould have been a nice way to start.

And from here it gets worse, at this time im back inside and the thought of the unprofessional attitude i recived flat out pissed me off.. I looked up thier phone number, thinking that maybe the company may like to know that they have an employee in the field acting this way. Still completly naive that this was anything other then a rude employee. Little did i know its a company practice, the woman i spoke to asked my name, but not address.. and said she was looking at the workorder (remember, this isnt my house, i rent, and ive never had an account with this company) she told me that it had been requested to pick up the old tank. Only saying back to me what i had told her, only the things that were told to me from the rude ***. I asked her how that was possible never giving an account name or street address, she then recanted and said if they're there then they must have a work order. Are you friggin kidding me? For all she knew it couldve been two guys casing the place in Suburban Propane tee shirts they bought at Salvation Army, since they parked up the street and there was no vehicle visable.. I hung up the phone and went to get the skinny from the *** outside,

Come to find out a year and a half ago (before i even lived here) the land lord put in a request to have the tank removed. They said they tried to call but couldnt get through on the number they had (old land-line, long since disconnected) at this point im thinking this is even more of a reason to knock on the door. My land lord was never aware of this either and barely remembered putting in the request that long ago.

Bottom line and the reason for this long rant. Suburban Propane's customer service is terrible and rates pretty poor in my book. Im glad i never have been a customer to them and after this i know that i wont ever be a customer to them, ill burn tires in my livingroom for heat before i buy gas from Suburban Propane!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

I feel like they don't knock for safety issues. A local man was shot here for trying to pick up a propane tank.
