The very last time I used suburban was about (about 3years ago).I had moved into my new house and switched to a local carrier that was $0.60+ per gallon cheaper. Only downfall, if there was an issue with my furnace, I had no one to fix it. I had called Suburban in Oneonta, NY to inquiry. Did I have to be purchasing fuel from them or could I just have them fix my furnace? Of course, the answer was I had to purchase fuel to have the maintenance...

Give me a break! All we use propane for is the stove. Fall is here, and I just want to be able to cook a normal meal in my own house! Their rental fees are more than double the competition, their service is obviously all mixed up and awful. At this point I am ready to just put the darn thing on the curb! Besides which, they never should have sent a monthly top-up type contract for cooking service, when just an annual fill-up is usually...

We're staying at our family vaca spot while house hunting and need a propane delivery for heat and cooking/baking. Our tank was very low bc the property isnt used very often (now we're out..). We prepaid to fill the tank when requesting the delivery. First we were told up to 4 days (the end of the week) for the delivery. At the end of the 4th day we called and were then told it would actually be up to 7 days for delivery. Well, its been 8 days,...

They ran us out of propane and claim that we didn't call for a delivery which we never have in 13 years. Pay a $150 charge and an inflated price / gallon in order to get your appliances functioning again. I'm amazed in the lack of tact, logic and overall intelligence. I realize good people are hard to find, but this is really amazing. A lack of empathy and leadership oversight is very apparent. I'd wonder about training and overall employee...

Then a month before Christmas they arbitrarily decided to fill it and charge me almost $600 without any authorization from me. I told them to come dig up the tank and take it. They then proceeded to send me the same bill but from collections and said I still need to pay it even though they got the tanks and gas back!! They're saying it takes them the same amount of money to unload the gas. Completely sketchy. I recommend anyone with a policy to get out asap. Go to Southern Propane...

They service our propane tank for our house generator. We had them deliver before the storm to be sure we had propane full. Post Hurricane Hermine we were without power for 4 days...2 days in we had to schedule an emergency delivery as it was over the weekend. Driver said they were out delivering to everyone and we shouldn't be charged. On 4th day we still didn't have power and were under 50% so had to order again...bam another $175 emergency...

So much for all the marketing speak on how propane is cheaper. So this year I contacted them in summer to ask for the current price. Almost as high as in winter at about $0.90! I asked for the fixed price offer's price but that was just a tad cheaper at about $0.80 and nowhere near the prices that some neighbors were paying for market rate delivery with other companies this year. So I cancelled. A nice looking propane fire is not worth this...

The last fill up I got from Suburban Propane was $5.33 per gallon. I use propane for hot water, cooking, and we also have small heaters we use occasionally that are propane. I was shocked when I called a locally owned fuel company and they only charge $1.59 per gallon. I immediately switched propane providers. Also note, that the $1.59 is not a introductory price. This is the price charged to all customers. Also, it's cheaper if you own the...

I was originally a HeatWell customer (10 yrs ago) due to economic times HeatWell sold to Suburban Propane. A company I specifically did not not to use due a lack of competence. (Short version it took my aunt 5 years to get her deposit back for her tank .) Suburban took my acct over instead of dealing with a change out of tanks & knowing I would be in for a fight to get my money back I stuck it out w/ Suburban. I should of went w/ my gut. I...

A large propane tank I rent from SP developed a bad valve that could not be turned off. I informed SP "customer service" of the defective valve. They told me to run out the tank, and they then proceeded to refill it with 125 gallons of propane once it was really close to empty. They told me they would send a truck to pump out the propane and switch out the defective cylinder. When the truck arrived to do that this morning, I was told that they...
