Suburban Propane - They bought the company I worked at and fired me
I worked at a gas company in dundee florida for about 10 yrs. i even put out one of there (suburban) trucks that was on fire and the driver was running from while it was still pumping they bought out the company i worked for everything was ok they said i was keeping my job so i go on vacation and when i got back from that a fellow employee said i had been fired so i went to see my manager and i had been fired for being blind in one eye i saved them possible millions of dollars and then they fire me while I'm on vacation and i never got my retirement fund or anything that was years ago but i never got over it they were like my family and then ruined my life

A common misconception is that co-workers become "family". They are not, and never will be unless you work for a firm owned and operated by relatives.
The first thing many companies do when acquiring other entities is to release the former employees ; sad but true - they don't want many of the "old guard" around - I've experienced this twice. Anything you did or did not do before matters little. (i.e. no way to prevent this) so I think it's time to let go of the anger and accept the past as a clear indicator of truth.
If I didn't, I'd be a twittering lunatic by now.
Remember, when one door shuts, another opens. I did better with my new occupation after getting canned by new owners ; and they bankrupted the company ....
